Lean Manufacturing is all about eliminating waste. Our applications are targeted towards helping companies identify and eliminate waste in their manufacturing processes while simultaneously reducing waste in their process engineering activities. Let Proplanner help you:
- Electronically manage, distribute, and collaborate on your Current and Future state value stream maps. Create and manipulate these diagrams in a collaborative manner via the web, or enter your group-created post-it-note alternatives so that they will be available for future reference.
- Automatically generate operation process charts, line balancing bar charts, workstation Gantt charts, product activity maps, and product flow diagrams to support your team’s ability to “visualize the process”.
- Map your processes to your mBOM and then chart, diagram, and evaluate your product assembly structure in comparison and contrast to that of your manufacturing process flow.
- Compute, collect and manage your workstation activities using observed time data or our pre-determined time calculator based on MTM standards. Generate workstation activity charts, and diagrams to engineer waste out of your operation task definitions.

Charting
This application supports Lean Manufacturing by generating both present and future state process charts and value stream maps directly from the process plan definition, and automatically creating hierarchical diagrams of manufacturing processes or quality issues for use in production.
Line Balancing
This application enables the user to graphically reference and assign process steps to workstations and to validate equipment requirements at those stations. The user can define work precedence or allow the application to use the process plan as a guide. The user can evaluate the line balance for one part or add actual production schedules or process definitions as background data for mixed-model production.
Process and Time Estimation
This module enables the user to define rules and methods for estimating job times using references to existing processes and experience or by applying predefined standards data from MTM.
Cost Estimation
Manufacturing Costs are generated using Allocation, Activity, or Avoidance Cost models for use in evaluating Make versus Buy alternatives. Times and Resources defined in the Time Estimation and Resource Management Modules are used to calculate cost estimates.
Containerization
This application enables selection of appropriate containers from a pre-defined list to help the user assign containers to new parts and subassemblies based on part weight, size, and quantity. The application assigns knowledge to each part so that the user knows what container is used for every move and storage operation in the plant, as well as how many containers are required (for Kanban scheduling), if the container is reusable or not, and who owns it.
