OVERVIEW: Production Modeling Corporation (PMC) is seeking a mid-level Laser Scanning Technician to support reality capture efforts across a wide range of industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. This role is primarily field-based and requires extensive travel. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on scanning experience, a solid understanding of survey control, and the ability to operate independently in active job-site environments. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and quality of data used for downstream BIM, engineering, and design workflows. What's GREAT about a career with PMC? KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform terrestrial laser scanning in active industrial and commercial environments
  • Establish, verify, and work within survey control using total stations and related equipment
  • Execute field scanning plans independently or with minimal supervision
  • Coordinate with site personnel to ensure safe and efficient field operations
  • Conduct basic field QA/QC to ensure data completeness and accuracy
  • Capture supplemental data as required (imagery, notes, measurements, metadata)
  • Support drone-based data capture when licensed and authorized
  • Travel extensively to project sites, often for multi-day engagements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:-
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional laser scanning experience
  • Demonstrated experience with survey control and total stations
  • Strong understanding of coordinate systems, registration concepts, and field best practices
  • Proven ability to work independently in the field
  • Willingness and ability to travel full-time (typically 70–90%)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work on active construction and industrial sites
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:-
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License (drone license)
  • Experience with industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, or complex MEP environments
  • Familiarity with common scanning platforms and software (e.g., Leica, FARO, Trimble, NavVis)
  • Strong communication skills for coordination with clients and internal teams

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: ·         Review and answer request for inspection orders (RFI) responses from PDC’s and processing centers ·         Create Field Wires in responses to RFI’s ·         Contact Suppliers on issues relating to nonconforming material ·         Provide input for Problem Report Resolution (PRR) for supplier issues ·         Apply order writing control on suspect stock ·         Interface with SPO and Product Engineering to resolve part issues Job Description Work involves functioning as the quality support for the manufacturing facility, and as a technical liaison between engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve quality issues.  In addition, the work includes monitoring current production quality metrics, field warranty metrics and providing technical support to ensure products conform to quality standards.  One must apply diversified knowledge of quality engineering principles and practices to produce and/or coordinate the solutions to complex problems. Considerable creativity and initiative are required. Independent judgment is required with some direction from the supervisor.
