What is Laser Scanning?
Our high definition laser scanners (HDS) accurately capture thousands of data points per second. This process allows a single team to collect and easily share all measurements, from the floor to ceiling. This point cloud of data is a 3d representation of your facility that can be viewed by your entire CAD team. Laser scanning promotes a safe work environment, as there are few interruptions to operations.
Why Laser Scanning?
In today’s environment, speed to market and reduced costs are critical. By utilizing laser scanning for documenting the conditions of your facility, project timelines can be shortened, project risk lowered, and costs reduced. This is accomplished by using a single team to capture the facility, and the following day, 3d data of the area can be delivered to the entire team in any location. The most common question is how many square feet can be covered in a day? The answer is: Typically 50,000 square feet depending on environment and complexity.
Access to the scan data can support multiple needs from general viewing to CAD users. The data allows decisions to be made without interpretation of manual measurements and field sketches. Using the laser scan model, the CAD data can also be modeled accurately anywhere, and installation drawings are made using the true field conditions. Literally, the entire team can see the plant floor without travel and disruption to operations.
