WSC 2012Berlin, Germany12/9/201212/12/2012The Winter Simulation Conference, a conference with a proud pedigree, authors from 40 countries in 2011, typically 18 parallel tracks, a PhD colloquium for upcoming talent, and a full set of exhibitors, will move outside the United States for the first time in a history spanning nearly half a century.
I3M 2012 MulticonferenceVienna, Austria9/19/20129/21/2012The MAS Conference concentrates on applied Modeling & Simulation (M&S) and computer technologies; application fields include logistics, supply chain management, production control, business and industrial organization. This event is the ideal framework for setting up European Community and International Projects and it could be used as a framework for hosting project review meetings and project exploitation. The audience includes users, vendors, and scientists active in applying advanced techniques to industry, business and services. The International Program Committee will accept two types of camera-ready papers: extended paper (10 pages, 2 columns); regular paper (6 pages, 2 columns).
ECMS 2012Koblenz, Germany5/29/20126/1/2012The European Conference on Modelling and Simulation (ECMS) is the international conference dedicated to help define the state of the art in the field. For several years, ECMS has proven to be an outstanding forum for researchers and practitioners from different fields involved in creating, defining and building innovative simulation systems, simulation and modelling tools and techniques, and novel applications for modelling and simulation.
IIE 2012 Annual ConferenceOrlando, Florida5/19/20125/23/2012The IIE Annual Conference is unlike any other for quality, productivity and efficiency professionals. It attracts attendees from all over the world – professionals, academicians and students – who share an interest in learning, sharing experiences and business successes, networking and just being around others who share their passions for the profession. Everyone finds something of interest at this conference - educational tracks, keynote speakers, personal discussions with colleagues, the chance to make new friends and contacts, to meet colleagues from other nations and to see the latest innovations from the industry’s leading corporations. This conference will attract an international audience of business and academic professionals representing industrial engineering and other professions that depend on quality, efficiency and productivity improvements to make their businesses operate more cost efficiently, safely and at maximum efficiency. This is the "flagship" conference of IIE.
International Simulation Conference of IndiaIIT Bombay, Mumbai, India2/2/20122/4/2012More than 140 attendees from India, the UK, Sweden, and the US discussed simulation in 61 different presentations. Topics included applications to manufacturing, automotive operations, supply chain systems and logistics; energy, healthcare & social systems; modeling methodologies, analysis techniques, stochastic simulations, and optimization. A panel discussion on the future of simulation in India was highly engaging and informative, with heavy audience participation. This was the first ISCI; a clamor for the second in 2013 has risen.
WSC 2011Phoenix, Arizona12/11/201112/14/2011The Winter Simulation Conference (WSC), held this year in Phoenix, Arizona, attracted well over 700 attendees. Twenty-six vendors of simulation software and/or instructional materials exhibited. Eighteen tracks ran in parallel from Monday morning to Wednesday noon. Applications of simulation to the delivery of health care were especially numerous, innovative, and of high quality. The theme for WSC 2011 was “Simulation for a Sustainable World.”
SIMUL8 Automotive User Group SessionSchoolcraft College, Livonia, MI12/5/201112/5/2011SIMUL8 and PMC collaborated for a no-cost learning event for SIMUL8 users in the automotive sector on "how to get your process in gear." SIMUL8 users at Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors described using the software to revolutionize their processes, increasing throughputs and efficiencies.
Michigan Simulation Users Group Annual ConferenceManagement Education Center, Troy, MI10/19/201110/19/2011The annual MSUG conference provided MSUG members with a forum, across company and industry boundaries, for the mutual exchange of technical, administrative, and management information pertinent to the use of simulation technology and software tools. PMC was there with a well-received presentation ("The Role of Simulation In Different Phases of Plant Design" by our president Dr. Ulgen) and an exhibit table. Attendance was about 45 (up over 2010).
EMSS 2011Rome, Italy9/12/20119/14/2011The European Modeling and Simulation Symposium is one of the most important simulation conferences in Europe. Traditionally, the conference focuses on Modeling & Simulation in Industry, taking into consideration both applications and theoretical approaches. This year, about 500 attended; PMC presented a paper on a simulation study which improved operational capacity of an aircraft manufacturing facility by 20% with $0 capital expenditure and 0 incremental headcount required.
SummerSim'11The Hague, Netherlands6/27/20116/30/2011SCS's 2011 Summer Simulation Multiconference is a part of the 2011 International Simulation Multi-conference (ISMC'11). This International Multiconference includes invited speakers, quality refereed papers, timely topical workshops, joint plenary sessions, consolidated registration, and access for registrants to all multi-conference activities hosted at the World Forum, The Hague, Netherlands. PMC's representative at this conference presented a paper on improvement of operational procedures in a large warehouse.
ECMS 2011Kraków, Poland6/7/20116/10/2011The European Conference on Modelling and Simulation (ECMS) is the international conference dedicated to help define the state of the art in the field. For several years, ECMS has proven to be an outstanding forum for researchers and practitioners from different fields involved in creating, defining and building innovative simulation systems, simulation and modelling tools and techniques, and novel applications for modelling and simulation. PMC presented a paper on increasing the capacity of an engine air-leak testing facility within an automotive manufacturing plant.
IIE Annual ConferenceReno, Nevada5/21/20115/25/2011The IIE Annual Conference in Reno was a big success. With more than 1,300 attendees, there was a tremendous buzz of excitement throughout the event. The program was excellent and the networking activities even better. I've been attending IIE conferences since the mid-1980s, and it was gratifying to hear the comments of our members and attendees. I had several longtime members tell me that they thought this was the best Annual Conference IIE has ever sponsored! Thanks to all of the attendees, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors who made it such a big hit!
