PMCoration (PMC) and Demand Works Company Align to Deliver “Best in Class” Forecasting and Scheduling Solutions
DEARBORN, MI and West Chester, PA – Working to provide organizations with total solutions to business improvement, PMC and Demand Works announced the signing of a global distribution agreement. Under the agreement, PMC will distribute and support the SmoothieÔ suite of demand management products through its global network of consultants in Canada, Sweden, India, Thailand, Turkey, Jordan and several locations in the United States. The combination of the Smoothie and PMC’s other planning, scheduling and simulation offerings will comprise a complete demand and supply chain solution for PMC’s customers.
Demand Works has seen rapid acceptance of its SmoothieÔ products, centered on the proprietary Pivot ForecastingÔ technology that enables immediate synchronization of user-defined aggregate forecasts with product and/or customer forecast details in real time. Pivot Forecasting™ replaces the need for rigid forecast hierarchies. As a result, it has been adopted by an increasing number of companies that need to statistically anticipate demand while reconciling product, channel, geographic and customer forecasts at varying levels of aggregation.
“Smoothie is an excellent product for global distribution and value-added channels. It’s easy to configure and easy to use, yet it provides compelling benefits to business users in the form of improved service, sales and asset turnover,” said Bill Tonetti, Demand Works company president. “We have a small number of customers outside the United States, but we are looking forward to achieving significant market share growth in global markets as a result of this partnership and others that will follow. PMC is a fine company with an excellent worldwide reputation, and we are honored that they have decided to represent us.”
“PMC's goal is to complement our client’s business know-how with our engineering, manufacturing, business and information systems expertise, providing answers for companies challenged to steer a successful business course. Partnering with Demand Works, we have the opportunity to add value by integrating forecasting and the demand management tools with our planning and scheduling solutions so that the clients can further improve their planning decisions to optimize their scheduling operations,” said Dr. Onur Ulgen, President of PMC. PMC’s strategic relationship with Demand Works Company will provide a broader solution to our customers.

Proplanner.net and PMCoration Enter Sales Agreement
Announce 15-city tour to train prospective users
Dearborn, Mich., July 25, 2003 - PMCoration has signed a master distributor contract with Proplanner.net of Ames, Iowa for distribution, support, and implementation of the Proplanner.net web-based manufacturing process management (MPM) software. The two companies will kick-off the new partnership with a 15-city training seminar tour beginning in August.
Dearborn-based PMC is North America's largest independent simulation services company. Proplanner.net is the world leader in net-centric and subscription-based MPM applications.
MPM is an emerging market space consisting of tools that allow manufacturing companies to create, document, manage and access detailed manufacturing process information. According to a 2002 Frost & Sullivan report, the MPM market is expected to reach $3 billion in eight years with 35% annual growth.
Proplanner.net president and founder Dave Sly said PMC has the right manufacturing industry customers to "kick-start" sales in the Midwest and Texas. "PMC has been around since 1979, and in that time has established itself as a leader in helping companies improve their manufacturing operations. This type of credibility will be a tremendous benefit as we work together to build the manufacturing process management marketplace."
Onur Ulgen, president and founder of PMC, said Proplanner.net is the right tool at the right time. "With the tough economic times facing manufacturers, Proplanner.net offers an easy, integrated tool that is very affordable. They don't need to purchase the software. It's available right over the internet or intranet. The start-up is extremely quick compared with traditional software."
About Proplanner
Proplanner.net integrates many of the disparate tasks performed by process and industrial engineers in manufacturing plants. All the documents, spreadsheets, layout drawings, control plans, ergonomic assessments, costing and line balancing forms used by engineers are easily accessed over the internet, intranet, and/or client-server systems through a Windows Explorer-like interface.
Sly estimates that a manufacturing company with five engineers and a product with $12 million in annual sales can save $335,000 in direct annual costs using Proplanner.net. and up to $12 million on a new product launch. The monthly subscription cost for Proplanner.net is $500. This includes all modules and maintenance.
PMC will host free one-day training seminars on Proplanner.net in 15 cities before the end of the year. Ulgen says the seminars are designed to introduce manufacturers to MPEM and train users on the software. Anyone receiving the training will receive a trial subscription to Proplanner.net.
"The goal is to take someone from newcomer to users in eight hours," said Ulgen. "By the time they leave the seminar they will be able to use the software the next time they launch their web browser."
Anyone interested in attending a seminar should go to www.proplanner.net
